Human beings communicate with others using languages. When someone meets someone else, they greet each other. There are a lot of ways to greet other people, whether we know them or we do not.
In English, we have different ways too in greeting people.
When we meet people for the first time in formal situation, we usually say “How do you do?” and the response is usually the same expression.
When we meet them in less formal situation, we can say “Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” or “Hello, I am …. How are you?” or “Hi, I’m …. What’s your name?”
It’s important for us to know all of these, unless people will say we are not “civilized” enough to communicate with other people.
Hmm… sounds correct, but is it?
